The Pinger application is designed to have a very simple and clean interface to easily ping device in your network or on the internet.
You can use a URL (DNS) or an IP to ping a remote device or service
Works on WiFi and 2G/3G/4G
Allows to set the number of pings to do (or unlimited)
Shows result statistics
Easily send results to IT manager or helpdesk over e-mail
There is also a paid feature for setting the device to automatically ping a device / IP / URL at a certain interval and notify the user if the ping was successful or if it failed.
To ping www.google.com for 10 times please follow these steps:
1. In the "IP/DNS to ping" section - type the URL "www.google.com
2. Click on the "Amount of pings (click to change):" line and select "10 times" from the list
3. Click on the "Ping Now" button
4. Results should be listed just below that.
5. Done!
* You can also control the ping destination and amount of pings via the settings page of the application
To setup automated pings to www.google.com every 30 minutes please follow these steps (remember, this is a paid feature, and will only operate if you purchased it):
1. Go to the application settings by clicking the "settings" icon in the action-bar or by selecting "settings" from the menu (depending on your OS version)
2. Scroll to the "Schedule pings" section
2.1 Click on "Set IP/DNS for autoping" and type in www.google.com -> click OK
2.2 Clion "Interval for pinging in background" and select "30 minutes"
2.3 Click "back" or on the "Pinger" icon at the top left side of the screen
3. Click on "Set auto ping"
4. You should see a message confirming that the automated pinging has been set, if you see an error or that you are required to purchase the feature, please go ahead and purchase the feature in order to use it
5. Done!
The application also offers customized notifications for the automated pinging:
* Notify on failed or on successful or on both
* With / without sound
* With / without vibration
The application also offered support for different size bytes to be sent, keep in mind that there is an added 8kb for the header.
